- VJzoo (Kat Black and Jasper Cook) are VJs and video artists from Perth, Western Australia. Since meeting at Art School in 2003, they have performed together at Festivals and other events in Singapore, Spain, the UK, France and the US to critical acclaim: "VJzoo / Kat and Jasper are influential and internationally-respected VJs with a rare, synergistic mix of expertise in painting, photography, graphic arts, and live video performance" Paul Spinrad, author of The VJ Book (US, 2006) VJzoo have also worked to foster the technical skills of live visualists, video artists and VJs through workshops, online resources and a regular "Plug n Play" event conducted in Perth, Australia over 20 times since 2006 and ran the Byte Me! Festival featuring a number of internationally acclaimed speakers and performers from various Digital Content fields. VJzoo are avid collectors of vintage video equipment, appreciating the unique nature of individual pieces as they decay in their own way, resulting in effects that are different even between identical models. They"ve been very surprised to discover that their fascination with obscure, temperamental old video hardware is shared by a surprising number of people around the globe. Loops recorded from one of their CVIs and uploaded to archive.org have had over 100,000 downloads, and they regularly get emails enquiring about the hardware
