Ryan Stec is a Winnipeg born/Ottawa based media artist and curator working in documentary and experimental forms. He has completed two full-length documentary projects, the second of which, Bastard, premiered with the Canadian Film Institute (2004). As a curator Stec produced the Ottawa based commissioning program, Remix (2002-2006), presented by SAW Video, the Available Light Screening Collective, Platform Gallery in Vaasa Finland, and Art Star, Galerie SAW Gallery Video Art Biennial. His experimental work is centered on live video performance, and has recently completed commissioned works for SAW Video (Ottawa), Modern Fuel (Kingston) and the New Forms Festival (Vancouver). Most recently, Stec joined Fool's Gold's Jokers of the Scene to produce the visual style of their popular Ottawa monthly - Disorganised. Stec is currently Artengine 's Artistic Director.
