The Anti-Paparazzi Clutch

In our society we are under constant surveillance, and if you are a celebrity then prepare yourself to be hunted by a paparazzi army. The Anti-Paparazzi Clutch is a purse and also a weapon to fight for privacy (or maybe enhance your brightness). The purse is equipped with light detectors and powerful LED lights. When the purse detects a flash, it turns on the LEDs and creates a bright strong light around it.

Why do you think it is important to make intelligent clothes?

'During the Middle Ages, wearing armor would have been considered smart dress. Today, we face other struggles, such as the lack of privacy. If we can find out ways to make garments smarter and address the issues of our time, then they can bring security and comfort to the wearer.'

How did you start to work with wearables?

'Wearables was a completely new field to me and I had to learn how to address a new set of issues like managing power more efficiently, hiding wires, reducing any unnecessary weight, using smaller components and how to balance size with functionality.'
